James and Susan asked me to do the photography at their wedding. Today we met early at the Redlands, CA temple. It was really a joy to see them so happy together and to be the one who captured that for posterity. James and Susan were just like any other young couple in love, and they were willing to do whatever I asked of them and as a photographer that is so very helpful.

Patricia is a long time client of my husbands. She asked for head shots, she needed one for her Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social media accounts. I was happy to oblige, her home is beautifully decorated, and it was dizzying trying to pick the perfect spot.

This is Nixon, my nephew, and exactly one week old today. My sister let me come to her home and photograph her son. Nixon is the youngest of three children, two girls and him. I was super excited to photograph Nixon. He wasn't ready to be asleep so most of the photographs are of him awake. It was wonderful to see this little boy. Thank you to my sister Adrienne for letting me photograph her son.

As a young girl my mom gave my sister's and I matching Kimberly dolls, a very popular doll I might add. she was so much fun to dress, brush her hair, and pretend with. Each doll had our initial on her right foot, mine had an S of course. recently my mom let me have my doll and a set of clothes for her to wear. In a fit of inspiration I decided to photograph Kimberly doing her hair, makeup and nails.

I had the chance to go to Girl's Camp again, as a photographer to highlight some of the fun the girls were having on the fist day of camp in Big Bear. While the girls registered, met bunk mates, played together, and toured the campground I went around and photographed them. After the playing all 190+ girls and leaders gathered around the fire pit for a group photo. The girls were really great and followed my instructions perfectly. It was fun going to camp and watching the girls faces light up when they gathered together.

This is Barbara, a dear friend, and my mom's high school Spanish teacher. My mom asked that I remove the writing from the photograph and try to fix the pixelation. This photograph came from her high school yearbook. The photos you see in yearbooks from this time period were a compilation of small dots of ink. Anyway I did what I could to make the photo look better.

I recently upgraded my camera to a Nikon D7000, it really has been fun learning all the new features and upgrades this camera offers. My husband needed me t0 design a website banner for a real estate agent who he has been designing a website for. He wanted a collage of photos of our mountains and golf courses. The mountains have been hiding behind clouds, but finally he couldn't wait any longer so I headed out to seize the moment.

I had the opportunity this evening to photograph the young women from my church who were being honored in an "Evening of Excellence" along with some young men who were showing support and the families of these girls. Congratulations girls on your achievements and thanks for the smiles.

The Wells family are friends whom I've know since I was a child. This is my second holiday photo shoot with them, last we met was Christmas 2006. It was fun to see all the grandchildren grown and the increase in how many grandchildren. Thank you Wells family for inviting me to your home again.

This is the Kendell family, they came all the way from Utah for a family trip to Disneyland. While in town they asked if I would photograph them at the beach, they wanted a change of scenery for their family photo. We ended up meeting at Huntington Beach.

This is the Davis family. As a family we went with them to Whitewater to do a double family photo shoot. They were great, I am in awe of the beautiful genuine smiles they shared with me and allowed me to photograph. Thank you Davis family.

I bought a bunch of very funny hats from IKEA. It was raining so I christened it Funny Hats day, we had some friends come over to wear some of our funny hats along with my children and pose for a mini photo shoot. This very cute girl is Mia and she is with her mom. They are related to our friends that came over.

Weddings really are a beautiful celebration of two people and the union of love and marriage. I had the privilege of photographing a wedding for a couple celebrating their marriage of twenty years. David, the groom/husband wanted to give his bride/wife the wedding of her dreams. They were unable to have their first wedding the way they had planned, so this wedding truly was meant to right that wrong.

I mentioned in the previous post that as a family we welcomed a new addition, a son. We needed to do a new family photograph. We went to a nearby water conservation park and with a tripod and remote we were able to photograph all of us together.

I think babies and adults are the easiest to photograph. Babies have very basic needs, and if you take care of those needs before and while photographing them they will allow you to capture them; as for adults they are more than willing to sit still and follow directions as long as you are clear what those directions are. I asked a friend who recently had a baby to let me photograph her son, and she agreed. Oliver was a willing subject for the most part. He really is a cute baby boy, and I think that it was captured in the photographs.

We have a beautiful landscaped water conservation park. It is a series of water collection pools and fenced trails and xeriscaping all around. I decided to take my children and photograph them on the rocks with surrounding plants and natural backdrop.

I took my children to the beach yesterday, we really only go once year, so this trip was exciting for them. On the way we picked up my sister and her girls. While there I was able to take a very cute picture of my sister and her girls. Plus some fun beach play scenes.

My paternal grandmother turned 90 and of course that was cause for a family celebration. All her children as well as two sisters and many other family came to celebrate. I had the opportunity to photograph each family and different variations of each of those families.

I learned about a new technique, you actually set the lens to manual and purposely move the lens to create movement in the photograph. The shutter speed is also slowed down to actually show the movement.

It has been a roller coaster ride in the Kennelly household. I have been packing my photography equipment as well as attempting to design a website and blog, but I think everything is falling into place. I don't have any current photo shoots to share just the hope that I am going to have some fun in the near future photographing my children most likely.
